I love that they help each other so much in different ways.

We are so grateful to be at CHOP, which has a good supply of #vincristine, the very cheap, very necessary chemo that literally every #pediatriccancer patient requires… and yet, because of the greed of pharmaceutical companies, is in a massive shortage in the USA. Kids are not getting their doses of chemo because vincristine isn’t profitable enough for a company who’s CEO made $35M last year, so they stopped making it. Want to know how much this precious drug costs? $5.

About 15,000 kids are being treated for a variety of pediatric cancers right now in the US. Wes has gotten 14 doses of vincristine so far in his 357 days of treatment for #acutelymphoblasticleukemia.

Doing the math, assuming about 15 doses/year, that’s about $1.1 million to cover every child’s dose for the year. 3% of that one CEO’s salary. If that doesn’t make you rage, I’m not quite sure what could.
